Specialized Hazardous Material Services
Every service performed by Texas-licensed professionals with the training, equipment, and regulatory compliance to protect your property, your occupants, and your investment.
Asbestos Abatement
Asbestos-containing materials (ACMs) were widely used in construction before the 1980s and remain present in millions of Texas buildings today. Disturbing ACMs without proper abatement procedures releases microscopic fibers that cause serious, irreversible lung disease. Persistence Environmental Services holds a Texas DSHS Asbestos Abatement Contractor License and Asbestos Transporter License — meaning we handle every phase of the process in-house, from containment to legal disposal.
What We Handle
Our Process
Survey & Sampling
We can refer a licensed asbestos consultant to conduct a thorough inspection and collect bulk samples for laboratory analysis to identify all ACMs before any work begins.
Containment Setup
Regulated work areas are established with negative air pressure, poly sheeting, and decontamination units to prevent fiber migration.
Abatement
Licensed abatement workers remove ACMs using HEPA-filtered equipment and wet methods to suppress fiber release throughout the process.
Air Clearance & Disposal
Post-abatement air monitoring confirms clearance. All waste is packaged, labeled, and transported to a licensed disposal facility under our Transporter License #400655.
Mold Remediation
Mold growth in buildings is not just a cosmetic problem — it degrades structural materials and produces mycotoxins that cause respiratory illness, allergic reactions, and long-term health effects. Texas' humid climate makes properties across the state especially vulnerable. PES is a licensed Texas TDLR Mold Remediation Company (RCO1748), qualified to perform full remediation in compliance with Texas Mold Assessment and Remediation Rules (TMARR).
What We Handle
Our Process
Assessment
We will refer a Mold Assessment Consultant to identify the extent of mold growth, moisture sources, and affected materials — the root cause must be addressed for remediation to hold.
Containment
Affected areas are isolated with poly barriers and negative air pressure to prevent spore migration to clean areas during work.
Remediation
Contaminated materials are removed or treated in compliance with your Mold Remediation Protocol per TMARR standards. HEPA vacuuming and antimicrobial treatment are applied throughout.
Clearance
Post-remediation verification by your third party Mold Assessment Consultant confirms mold levels are within acceptable limits before containment is removed and the area is returned to use.
Lead Paint Reduction
Lead-based paint was used in most homes and commercial buildings constructed before 1978. When lead paint deteriorates or is disturbed during renovation, it creates lead dust and chips that are highly toxic — especially to children and pregnant women. PES provides professional lead paint risk assessment, interim controls, and full abatement services in compliance with EPA and Texas regulations.
What We Handle
Our Process
Testing & Risk Assessment
We will refer a consultant to complete XRF testing or paint chip sampling to identify lead-containing surfaces and assess the risk level based on condition and location.
Work Plan Development
A compliant abatement plan is developed specifying methods, containment requirements, and disposal procedures for each affected surface.
Abatement
Lead paint is removed, encapsulated, or enclosed by trained workers using EPA-approved methods with full containment and HEPA filtration.
Clearance Testing
Post-abatement dust wipe sampling and visual inspections may be required to confirm the work area meets clearance standards before re-occupancy.
Interior Demolition
Interior demolition in older buildings is never as simple as swinging a sledgehammer. Walls, ceilings, and floors in pre-1980s construction frequently contain asbestos, lead paint, or mold — making hazardous material compliance a prerequisite for any demolition work. PES performs selective and full interior demolition with integrated hazmat abatement, so your project moves forward without regulatory delays or liability exposure.
What We Handle
Our Process
Pre-Demo Hazmat Survey
Before any demolition begins, we survey the structure for asbestos, lead, and mold — required by Texas and federal regulations for any renovation or demolition.
Abatement First
All identified hazardous materials are abated in compliance with applicable regulations before demolition work proceeds.
Controlled Demolition
Interior structures are removed methodically to protect adjacent areas, building systems, and the structural envelope.
Debris Removal & Site Clean
All demolition debris is removed and the site is left clean, ready for the next phase of your project.
